Cooking Caribbean with 'Original Flava'

In case you have wondered what the Caribbean diet was all about and needed some guidelines; there's even more help now. πŸ“šπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Two young men, 'Shaun and Craig McAnuff have taken the challenge of teaching some of us how it's done in a new book called

'Original Flava Caribbean Cookbook'.

It contains over 70 recipes of authentic and modern Caribbean meals also making use of some healthier ingredients.

It is a rich book full of vibrant illustrations and easy to follow recipes.
If you want to get a copy of this book and more, do so by following the link below

They would be glad you did πŸ˜†and you would be much the wiser in your Caribbean Cuisine.

Summer Love 😎 Suya with Zee (Zita)

Hi folks.

Here's my new found love

                       Zita Bernice Tiena.

She is a certified health coach using shapeupafrica.com as her website. African foods are her main dietary focus.

Today, courtesy of her, we shall hopefully become "Suya' gurus and the toast of summer due to our acquired BBQ skills.πŸ˜‰

What is 'Suya'?
Essentially sliced meat on sticks or skewers loaded with a nutty spice and pepper mix in powdered form. Once learnt, you can always adjust your seasoning to accommodate your tastes and tolerances.

So let's see how Zita does it. Links to her website would be under her video.
See also her Facebook page @shapeupafrican.com.

We shall definitely be hearing more of and from her.

Enjoy..😎- Fally Jay for The Food Hut (@FJafrocaribbeanfoods)

A 'Sympli' yam competition in London!!! #theyamstoryuk

Morning peeps!

Our people have been busy!!!! πŸ˜ƒ

Two London Chefs from

Kenya Coffee House and Enish Restaurant

slog it out in a 'Yam cook-off ' to prove who can best handle our much loved 'Sympli' yam products.

See just how much more you can learn about cooking yam..πŸ˜—

Enjoy πŸ˜†!

After watching all that, do the next best thing:

Visit either restaurant and ask for a yam dish
or visit the shops (πŸ˜‰ yeah, Tescos, Morrissons, Asda or Ades Cash and Carry etc) and buy your 'Sympli' frozen yam cubes or fries to cook up a storm in your kitchen.

I would be personally glad to post pictures of your results, most especially if you are new to the whole yam thing. You can do this @FJafrocaribbeanfoods, the business page for the Food Hut.

Thanks for keeping #theyamstoryuk going,

Like or share this post wherever you come across it. You can also follow our Facebook page @FJAFROCARIBBEANFOODS.

Till next time,
